Class 1 children have had a very busy Monday! We were visited by Catherine Conyard from ‘History to Life!’, who had lots of world war 2 facts and activities for us. We were code breakers, learned all about rationing (and promised to eat all of our lunch as a result!) we tried on some helmets and jackets to see how soldiers on the front lines dressed, and we were shocked at how heavy the helmets and some jackets were! As if that wasn’t a busy enough day we’ve also been organising facts about Roald Dahl into chronological order so we can use those as a basis for a biography on the author which we will be compiling throughout this week in literacy!  We even had time to make gas mask boxes to go with our evacuee labels. Phew!
